Rupes 150 mm (6 inch) Foam Pads

World-class car polishers aren't the only thing Rupes specializes in!

Car polishers manufactured by Rupes require a special foam pad design as a result of their massive throw.  The throw of the machine indicates the size of the orbit the pad makes. Regular foam pads can cause the machine to feel imbalanced while the pad itself will experience excessive wear.  Rupes designed their foam pads to work harmoniously with the Big Foot Polishers because a fine Italian sports car is only as good as the tires attached to it!

Rupes foam pads are constructed of super durable open-cell foam that is designed to withstand extended polishing sessions without losing mechanical cutting or polishing abilities.  The 24 degree beveled edge ensures 100% surface contact so you get better results every time.

Your polisher, compounds and polishes are only as good as the pads you're using them with.  This is especially true with the Rupes Big Foot Polishers because of the enormous stroke each tool makes.  Rupes spent a considerable amount of time developing a line of foam pads that would not only work with the massive stroke of the Big Foot Polishers, but actually take advantage of it to deliver better results.

Rupes foam pads are available in 100 mm (4 inch), 150 mm (6 inch) and 180 mm (7 inch) in the following configurations:

Rupes Blue Coarse Foam Pad quickly eliminates swirls and scratches

Blue Coarse Foam Pad
This pad is the first step in the Rupes Big Foot Polishing System. The Blue Coarse Foam Pad is very aggressive in its construction and was designed to be used with Rupes Zephir Gloss Coarse Gel Compound. This combination of pad and product, when used on the Rupes Big Foot Random Orbital Polisher, is capable of removing up to 1500 grit sanding marks on fresh paint. Swirls, light scratches, water spots and other paint imperfections will be effortlessly removed with this pad. Always follow this pad with a less aggressive pad/polish combination to maximize gloss and surface smoothness.

Rupes Green Medium Foam Pad has enough cut to remove swirls while leaving a clear finish Green Medium Foam Pad
This pad is the second step in the Rupes Big Foot Polishing System. The Green Medium Foam Pad is very dense in its construction and was designed to be used with Rupes Quarz Gloss Medium Gel Compound to remove swirl marks, water spots and other paint imperfections. This pad is aggressive enough for most applications on factory clear coat systems. Always follow this pad with a less aggressive pad/polish combination to maximize gloss and surface smoothness.
Rupes Yellow Polishing Foam Pad is soft enough to provide a swirl-free finish Yellow Polishing Foam Pad
This pad is the third step in the Rupes Big Foot Polishing System. The Yellow Polishing Foam Pad was designed to be used with Rupes Keramik Gloss Fine Gel Polish to remove light swirl marks, holograms, clay-induced marring, and other light paint imperfections. This pad finishes exceptionally well considering the mechanical polishing ability that it provides.
Rupes White Foam Pad is the softest pad Rupes makes and is designed for the final polishing or waxing step White Finishing Foam Pad
This pad is the fourth and final step in the Rupes Big Foot Polishing System. The White Finishing Foam Pad is exceptionally soft in its construction and was designed to be used with Rupes Diamond Ultra Fine Gel Polish to maximize gloss and clarity before applying a wax or sealant. The White Finishing Foam Pad will finish flawlessly on any paint system when used with a high quality polish.

Rupes foam pads need to be properly cared for to ensure maximum operating life.  Clean your pad often with a Foam Pad Conditioning Brush to remove spent polish, oxidized paint and other embedded contaminants that were removed from the paint during the polishing process.  When you're finished using the pads for the day, soak them in a bucket of warm water and mix in one ounce of Detailer's Polishing Pad Rejuvenator.  This citrus-based degreaser removes caked on polish and wax residue, leaving your pads clean and ready for future polishing sessions.  After they've soaked for 15 to 20 minutes, thoroughly rinse them out and allow them to air dry in a well ventilated area with the backing material facing up.

Rupes 150 mm (6 inch) Foam Pads are designed to be used with a 5 inch hook and loop backing plate.
